Match source sites and OneDrives to their destinations

Choose where access will be restored before you create a batch.

Quick answer

Match each selected source site or OneDrive to its actual migrated destination. Similar names alone are not enough to prove the match.

Your next step

Open the source and destination URLs and confirm the intended content is present before including the pair in a batch.

Match content in Projects

  1. Complete source and destination scans in the same project.
  2. In Match source to destination, find a source item and select its intended destination.
  3. Compare both full URLs. Confirm that a site or personal OneDrive was not confused with another item having the same display name.
  4. Select Include for each matched pair you want in the batch.
  5. Create the batch and follow its Prepare step to review the file-level access changes.

If you cannot choose a destination

  • Finish the destination scan and check its scope and status.
  • Confirm the content has actually been migrated or provisioned at that address.
  • Check whether the expected destination belongs to a different connected tenant.
  • Use URLs to distinguish duplicate display names. For many pairs, use the downloadable mapping CSV template.

Keep batches easy to review

Include a manageable set of related sites or OneDrives. Separate pilot work from the broader rollout so that the review and results remain understandable.

If a source-to-destination decision changes, prepare the affected scope again. Do not approve an old plan assuming it automatically reflects the new destination.
